Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Licensed School Social Worker with relevant credentials for practice in Minnesota Demonstrated experience working with special education students or supporting transitional youth programs Ability to provide crisis intervention, counseling, and advocacy for students and their families Collaborative mindset for effective partnership with teachers, administrators, and outside agencies Strong communication skills for consultations and documentation Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and multidisciplinary teams preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive social work services to students in the Transitional Education Service Alternative Program (TESA) Conduct assessments, develop plans of support, and implement evidence-based interventions Cultivate positive relationships with students to encourage emotional and academic success Liaise with families to identify needs and connect them with appropriate community resources Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to planning as part of the educational team Provide crisis management and preventative support strategies within the school environment The position follows a regular Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., aligning with the school calendar for the 2026-2027 school year, with the option for a continuing contract. Compensation is competitive for the professional skill and care required for this vital work.
