Job Description

Support students during a pivotal point in their educational journey as a contracted School Social Worker, Special Education, working with the Transitional Education Service Alternative Program (TESA) at Dakota County Technical College. This role is a unique chance to make a positive impact in the lives of students requiring social, emotional, and behavioral support as they transition to new learning environments. In this position, youll collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to enhance student development and promote a safe, inclusive school community for all. The assignment follows a Monday through Friday schedule, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in line with the schools calendar, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year and continuing in a contract capacity.
Desired Qualifications:
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a School Social Worker in Minnesota (LGSW, LISW, LICSW preferred) Experience supporting students in special education, particularly with transitional programs Skill in crisis intervention, behavior management, IEP development, and advocacy for students with diverse needs Excellent communication and documentation skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams Familiarity with Minnesota public school systems and special education processes
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group social work services supporting students academic and social/emotional growth Participate in the design and implementation of positive behavioral interventions Coordinate and refer students/families to relevant community resources Collaborate with teaching staff and administration to ensure student success Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a purposeful, supportive educational program in Rosemount.
