Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Nursery Coordinator to lead and manage our small and vibrant nursery program. This role is vital in fostering a nurturing environment for children, coordinating volunteer efforts, and ensuring the smooth operation of all nursery activities. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to community engagement, creating a safe, welcoming space for families and children alike. As a Nursery Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing community connections through effective volunteer management, program development, and community outreach. Responsibilities Oversee daily nursery operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children. supervise children's play and activities Sunday mornings during worship and Sunday school, max 3 hours per week. Warmly interact with children and parents, assisting with check-in/check-out Follow all nursery safety and health guidelines and hold volunteers to the same standard Create and publish a volunteer schedule quarterly or longer. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support nursery activities and maintain high standards of care. Develop and implement volunteer engagement programs to foster community involvement and retention. Coordinate with staff and community partners to plan special events, educational activities, and community outreach initiatives. Manage database systems using Planning Center to track volunteer information, attendance, and program outcomes. Communicate any needs or concerns to church staff or designated contact. Experience
  • Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with young children (infants through preschool).
  • Organized and able to plan several months ahead.
  • Comfortable using scheduling software, or willing to learn.
