Through global partnerships and cutting-edge digital preservation, HMML safeguards manuscripts, archives, and rare books that might otherwise be lost to conflict, political instability, or natural disaster. Since its founding in 1965, HMML has photographed more than 445,000 manuscripts while collaborating with over 800 libraries and cultural institutions across more than 40 countries, creating an unparalleled resource for scholars and future generations. Following its transition to an independent nonprofit in 2023, HMML is entering an exciting new phase of growth. With an expanded governance structure, renewed strategic priorities, and increasing global relevance, the organization is investing in the philanthropic infrastructure needed to support its ambitious future. This evolution creates an extraordinary opportunity for a fundraising leader to help shape the next chapter of one of the world's most respected cultural preservation organizations. The inaugural Chief Advancement Officer will join HMML at a defining moment in its history. Reporting directly to the Executive Director and serving as one of three senior executive leaders, the CAO will build and lead a comprehensive advancement program designed to fuel the organization's long-term strategic vision. Working closely with an engaged Board of Directors and executive leadership team, this leader will establish the philanthropic strategies, systems, and relationships that position HMML for sustained growth while expanding awareness of its extraordinary global mission. This role offers the opportunity to build an advancement function with significant organizational support and momentum already in place.
