Want to become a member of a nationally recognized early childhood education program? Join our team! The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis is hiring a Family Service Worker (FSW) in the Head Start/Early Head Start program.

The FSW responsibilities include:

Recruiting and enrolling children of eligible families Providing social services case management activities including the completion of the child health requirements. Supports the larger system of services provided by Head Start/Early Head Start, thereby supporting the goals of the program. This role also includes maintaining a full caseload of children, maintains an ongoing waiting list to ensure vacancies are filled within 30 days, conducts a minimum of two (2) home visits per family to facilitate family plans, assisting families in achieving identified goals and follow-up on referrals, makes a minimum of 10 contacts per week with assigned families (contacts entire caseload at least once a month), documents contacts in database/file, and other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate must have:

Bachelor's degree in social work or a related Human Service field Minimum of 1 year of experience working with families facing economic and social challenges. Strong knowledge of social work practices, child development, and local resources. Familiarity with Head Start Performance Standards Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification Health exam and TB Screening required.
