In this vital role, you will provide safe, supportive shelter services during your shifts, ensuring residents receive respectful care, crisis intervention, and essential resources. Your proactive approach will foster a welcoming environment, promote safety, and support clients in their journey toward stability and independence. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in social work, crisis management, and community care while making a positive impact every weekend. Focus in this position will be in working to support the children in shelter by creating and implementing opportunities for children to have a safe and welcoming environment while in shelter. Responsibilities Welcome residents and visitors with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive shelter experience. Conduct intake assessments to gather essential client information and determine immediate needs. Provide crisis intervention and conflict management to de-escalate tense situations and ensure safety for all. Supervise children's activities, ensuring their well-being through childcare support and behavioral health guidance. Monitor shelter security by conducting regular patrols, managing access points, and maintaining safety protocols. Provide case management and offer life skills groups Document client interactions accurately through data entry, filing, and data collection to support ongoing case work. Skills Excellent communication skills to effectively engage clients, staff, and community partners.
