Job Description

The Student Front Desk Worker (Student Worker) reports to the Department of Human Services Social Work program's Carolyn Corson, Student Worker Supervisor, and to Dr. Ryan Peterson, Department Chair. The Student Worker will manage the front desk, monitor access to the Social Work student computer lab, perform office tasks as required, such as copying, shredding, and laminating, daily monitor the printer and printing supplies, lock and unlock doors, distribute incoming mail and packages to faculty of all programs within the department. This is a Federal Work Study funded position to be filled by a FWS-approved student. A list of references with contact information (name, phone number, and email address) should be submitted along with cover letter and resume. This is a part-time position for eligible UCM students looking for 4 to 10 hours of work per week during Fall and Spring academic periods. Hours are generally not available during the Summer semester.
Duties Include:
Manage the front desk, greet faculty, students, and visitors, and monitor access to the Social Work student computer lab Print, copy, scan, laminate, and shred documents Monitor the printer to be fully stocked with paper and other supplies, lock and unlock doors when needed Assist instructors with designing and preparing pamphlets, event programs, notices, and other types of documents Change content in hallway display cases and bulletin boards; monitor student test-taking Other duties as necessary
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Experience is preferred but not required in using Microsoft products, in customer service, and in having held a previous job of any type or duration in which the applicant was reliable and reported to work on time
Working Days and Hours:
Monday - Friday No more than 20 hours per week
