Job Purpose:
The school family and community liaison position was established for the following purpose: Facilitate parent- school communication Facilitate community agency referrals Encourage family involvement in school Foster trust between parents and the educational community Foster higher academic achievement through the collaboration with school personnel Remove barriers to student success Essential Duties and Responsibilities The school family and community liaison position will have the following responsibilities: Coordinate programs for addressing truancy. Work with families and schools to identify potential student attendance issues. Improve student attendance. Refers students and their families to outside agencies for the purpose of ensuring student needs are met. Coordinate and conduct home visits and family meetings for the purpose of addressing student needs. Maintains ongoing communication with families on behalf of the school Assists students and families with acquiring necessary services for school success and participation Receives referrals and responds to requests for resource information and parent support Maintains logs and records of family contacts, referrals, etc Performs other duties as assigned Facilitate referrals for McKinney Vento families/students Education The school family and community liaison position maintains the following education requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Services, or related field Relevant experience will be considered Compensation Pay is dependent on experience and level of education.
