The County is currently accepting applications for the position of

SOCIAL WORKER III

(Permanency Planning). This position maintains a caseload of children in foster care; provides intensive casework services to families and children; works to reunify families when feasible; and provides placement services. Minimum Qualifications & Requirements Requires a thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems; considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques; and skill in establishing rapport with a client and in applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client's problems. Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Social Work; or a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and one year of human services experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field and two years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a Master's Degree or bachelor's degree in social work with completion of the N.C. Child Welfare Collaborative Program will equal one year of experience credit. Experience in NC child welfare roles, crisis intervention and/or interviewing and assessment related to safety preferred. Bilingual applicants preferred. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. If degree is not in Social Work, please submit a copy of transcript with application. Pre-Service:

Child Welfare in North Carolina," before direct client services can begin. Continuing Education of at least 24 hours annually is required Most training is in person and may require overnight travel. $62,000.00 - $68,200.00 per year
