Primary focus of position is to assess child abuse/neglect or dependency of children from birth through seventeen years of age. Interviews and evaluates the extent of neglect or abuse and degree of risk of harm to child. Interviews collaboratively with the child, siblings, parents, perpetrators, educators, and others. Assists in decisions regarding case decision of the alleged neglect or abuse as prescribed by federal and state guidelines, providing expert testimony in court hearings, and following-up with case management, on a limited basis, and preventive services for clients. Works with law enforcement and judicial system during assessment, non-secure custody hearings, juvenile hearings, and court ordered supervision to ensure the safety of the child. Position reports directly to CPS Team Supervisor. Social worker may provide group, family or individual treatment to clients of any age. Will rotate on-call duties with other staff. Other duties as required. Master's degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or Master's degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a four-year degree in a human services field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a four-year in a human services field or related curriculum and three years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university for four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling; pastoral counseling or a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Pay:

$59,177.00 - $62,136.00 per year
