Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity dedicated to supporting students across a vibrant K-12 environment. This full-time, onsite contract role offers a chance to make a meaningful difference with a flexible, school-year schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. As an itinerant professional, you'll travel between multiple school sites, connecting with approximately 35 students and collaborating with dedicated educators.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active NM CTRS Certification is required (please reference the official guidelines for details) Background in school-based social work and recreational therapy Experience supporting students with autism, ADHD, developmental delays, and a variety of learning and behavioral needs Ability to effectively engage children and adolescents in group and individual activities Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and facilitate group games to help students with autism improve social skills Guide students with ADHD through structured physical activities tailored to channel their energy positively Support students with developmental delays by incorporating adapted sports and recreational practices to enhance gross motor abilities Teach students with disabilities techniques to utilize community resources, encouraging participation and social integration Provide strategies such as relaxation techniques and coping mechanisms for students handling stress, anxiety, or depression This role allows you to build strong relationships with students, helping them discover new strengths and find joy in learning and recreation.
