Job Description:
This position is offered through the SUNY Research Foundation, a private not-for-profit organization located on the SUNY Cobleskill campus. The position is physically located at Schoharie Central Jr/Sr High School in Schoharie, NY. Employment is through the SUNY Research Foundation and is not affiliated with the State of New York or the State University of New York. The SUNY Cobleskill Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) is a New York State Education Department-funded dropout prevention program serving students in grades 6-12 and their families across seven school districts in Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware Counties. LPP works to support students in graduating from high school and successfully transitioning to post-secondary education and/or the workforce. This Advocate position will be located at Schoharie Central Jr/Sr High School and will provide services to LPP students in the areas of academic support, social-emotional development, life skills, goal setting, mentoring, leadership, service learning, and college and career readiness. The Advocate will represent LPP within the school and district, collaborate with school and LPP staff, and advocate for LPP students. Services may be provided individually or in small groups during the school day and through field trips, workshops, and occasional after-school or evening activities. The Advocate will engage parents/guardians, connect students and families with appropriate resources, follow mandated reporter requirements and SUNY Cobleskill Child Protection Policies, and maintain confidentiality.
Responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining personal learning plans and social-emotional assessments with students Maintaining accurate records of student and family contacts and submitting required data in a timely manner Coordinating services with LPP and district staff Participating in professional development Completing other duties necessary to meet the goals of LPP and the needs of students and families The Advocate will report directly to the LPP Project Director.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree 1+ years of experience working with adolescents
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree 1+ years of experience working with adolescents in a school setting

Hourly Rate:
$17.30/hour
Part-Time:
30-35 hours/week
Annual Length of Assignment:
10-months (September-June)
