About the YWCA of Queens Founded in 1978, the YWCA of Queens is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and strengthening individuals and families throughout Queens. We provide educational, social service, workforce development, youth, and community programs that support the diverse communities we serve. About the Position The YWCA of Queens is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Social Worker, Mental Health Professional, Counselor, or related behavioral health professional to facilitate a monthly parenting support and education group for Mandarin-speaking families. This is an opportunity for a professional who enjoys working with parents and families and has experience providing parenting education, family support, counseling, or facilitating group programs. The facilitator will lead a group of approximately 18-20 parents through 12 monthly, 90-minute in-person workshops focused on practical parenting skills, family communication, and emotional wellness. Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate 12 monthly parenting workshops.
• Provide engaging, culturally responsive parenting education in Mandarin.
• Cover topics such as positive discipline, parent-child communication, child development, emotional wellness, stress management, and parenting in bicultural households.
• Create a welcoming environment that encourages discussion and peer support.
• Prepare session materials and curriculum.
• Maintain attendance and brief session documentation.
• Coordinate with the YWCA Community Support team.
• Identify participant needs and make appropriate referrals to community or support services when needed. Qualifications
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Behavioral Health, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Experience working with parents, families, children, or caregivers.
• Experience facilitating parenting education, family support groups, psychoeducational groups, counseling, or similar programs.
• Strong communication and group facilitation skills.
• Experience working with diverse or immigrant communities.
• Experience working with Mandarin-speaking or Chinese immigrant families.
• Experience providing parenting education or family counseling.
• Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
• Knowledge of community resources and social services. Compensation & Schedule
• $400 per session
• One 90-minute in-person session per month
• 12 sessions over a 12-month period.
