Facilitate Activities and Supervise Teen Center TeensPOSITION SUMMARY
The Teen Center Support Staff position supports the daily operations of the YMCA Teen Center by providing supervision, guidance, and positive engagement for youth participants. This role helps create a safe, welcoming, and constructive after-school environment where teens can build friendships, develop skills, and participate in meaningful activities. Staff serve as role models who uphold the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility while maintaining a positive and orderly environment.QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide active supervision of teens in all areas utilized by the Teen Center to ensure participant safety and appropriate behavior at all times.
- Uphold discipline standards and apply behavior management practices that maintain a respectful and positive Teen Center environment.
- Follow all guidelines and procedures outlined in the Teen Center Handbook.
- Promote positive relationships among youth while maintaining appropriate staff-to-youth boundaries as defined in YMCA policies.
- Assist with the service and documentation of CACFP meals and snacks in accordance with program requirements.
- Support the delivery of constructive after-school activities that provide teens with safe, meaningful ways to spend their time.
- Monitor Teen Center café operations and assist with sales and basic transactions as needed.
- Complete Teen Center opening and closing procedures as assigned.
- Supervise, support, and coach teen volunteer workers participating in Teen Center work readiness programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support Teen Center operations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT &PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Required for essential duties; reasonable accommodations will be considered under the Americans with Disabilities Act; this list is not all-inclusive and may be supplemented as necessary.- Ability to supervise youth in active recreational and social settings.
- Ability to move throughout the Teen Center and downtown YMCA areas and stand for extended periods when needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
