SOCIAL WORKER
LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC Posted 31-Jul-2026 (EST) Emergency Department 1500 North James Street, Rome, NY, USA 35.15-42.97 per hour Hourly Full Time Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Retirement Rome Health is seeking a Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our hospital-based behavioral health team. This role provides compassionate, patient-centered mental health services to individuals and families across the continuum of care. Position Overview The clinician in this role will provide individual, group, and family therapy while completing clinical assessments and supporting treatment planning. This position plays a key role in ensuring patient safety, coordinating care, and connecting patients with appropriate resources and services. Key Responsibilities Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions Conduct psychotherapy, intake screenings, and comprehensive clinical assessments Complete safety planning and provide treatment recommendations Participate in treatment planning and ongoing patient support Utilize evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions Provide case management, referrals, and linkage to community resources as appropriate Assess risk, including suicidal and homicidal ideation, and develop appropriate safety plans Support patients in identifying strengths, needs, and treatment goals Collaborate with families and care teams as clinically indicated Qualifications & Knowledge Knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches Ability to complete risk assessments and develop effective safety plans Familiarity with DSM-5 criteria and substance use disorder (SUD) diagnosis support Understanding of professional ethics and standards of care Knowledge of
