A Family, School, or General Social Worker provides specialized assistance to vulnerable families and children. Intervenes in crisis situations; evaluates individual and family needs, helps clients get access to health care, mental health care or social services such as housing assistance. Advocates for clients and provides follow up visits. May work with teachers, parents and school administrators to help students improve academically and deal with social issues such as bullying.

PART TIME EMPLOYEES

- PT/PRN assists with the coordination and scheduling of activities for the peer support Drop-In Center.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED is preferred .Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an active member of a Drop-In Center is required.
- Training experience and/or attendance at consumer conferences is a plus.
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances:
- Act 33/34 Clearances
- FBI Clearance
- Valid State of PA Class 1 Drivers License
- Access to properly insured motor vehicle for client transportation and fieldwork and a safe driving record

Mental Illness And Substance Abuse Requirements:
o Knowledge of community support systems resources (local meetings, options, etc.) o Ability to identify symptoms of the MISA (Mental Illness/Substance Abuse) population o Ability to identify differences in MISA population compared to SPMI (Severe and Persistent Mental Illness) population Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Opens/Closes the center, performs appropriate appliance checks, etc.
- Provides Peer Support Leader assistance with the implementation of the center.
- Communicates announcements of meetings, news, and events.
- Provides additional support to volunteers with their duties and schedules.
- Encourages consumer participation and leadership development within the Drop-In setting.
- Distributes information, such as calendars, newsletters, and mail. Checks phone messages.
- Maintains records and files, such as sign-in sheets and inventory logs.
- Addresses all issues of fraud waste and/or abuse as they arise and proactively looks for ways to prevent instances of fraud, waste, and abuse in the service delivery system and work systems of the agency as described in the agency Compliance Plan.
