Management Teach personal development skills such as goal setting, independence and self-advocacy Facilitate completion of tests and assignments to evaluate students' progress Administer specialized testing as necessary Follow-up with concerns from teachers, parents and/or administrative staff Prepare activities to keep students engaged throughout the school day Teach socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement Track daily behaviors using Class Dojo or another tracking method as approved by Ignite administration Track attendance daily for each student Complete bi-weekly progress report for tracking attendance and behavior, and academic progress reports as needed IEP Implementation and Management Coordinate implementation of IEP goals and modifications (SDI's) with general education and special education staff Confer with parents, administrators, testing specialists and professionals to ensure individual education Plans are designed to promote students' educational, physical and social development Monitor student progress, participate in review and revision of IEP, as appropriate Attend staff meetings as required Perform other duties as necessary What are the required qualifications? High School Diploma required A bachelor's degree in secondary education/elementary education or Human Services field preferred Willingness to go through (and pass!) the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: four clearances, mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started. Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
