Work Schedule:

37.5 hours per week Purpose Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester is seeking a Youth & Family Services Coordinator to deliver school-based mentoring programs, facilitate engaging youth development activities, and provide support to participating families. This position works closely with students, families, school personnel, and community partners while managing family resources, maintaining accurate program documentation, and ensuring services are delivered consistently and in accordance with BBBSR and BBBSA standards. Essential Functions Facilitate weekly Group Mentoring, High School Bigs, and other school-based mentoring programs. Build positive relationships with students and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging program environment. Coordinate youth activities, educational projects, guest speakers, field trips, and other enrichment opportunities. Monitor student attendance, participation, engagement, and progress, communicating concerns and recommendations to the Program Manager. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and other staff to coordinate program schedules, logistics, and student participation. Build relationships with participating families, respond to identified needs, and connect families with appropriate community resources. Manage BBBSR's Food Pantry and Family Resource Room, including inventory, organization, and resource distribution. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of program activities, student participation, family communication, referrals, and distributed resources. Support mentor recruitment, community outreach, agency events, staff activities, and other duties as assigned.

Job-Related Qualifications Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior Experience:

At least one year of experience in youth services, education, human services, community-based programs, or a related field.

Additional Requirements:

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel throughout the Greater Rochester area. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Youth Development, or a related field. Experience supporting families and connecting individuals with community resources. Experience working with schools, community organizations, or youth-serving agencies. Experience with data entry, program documentation, or case management systems. Knowledge of the cultural, educational, and socioeconomic factors that influence the lives of youth and families. Competencies Group facilitation and classroom or workshop management skills. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build positive and appropriate relationships with youth and families. Planning, organization, time management, and attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple programs, schedules, and responsibilities. Problem-solving skills, flexibility, and sound judgment. Ability to communicate effectively with school personnel, community partners, families, and coworkers. Ability to maintain professional boundaries and handle sensitive information appropriately.
