Job Description
First Baptist Church of Commerce, TX is seeking a part-time Director of Family Ministries. We are looking for someone who loves Jesus, loves families, and has a heart for helping the next generation know and follow Christ. The Director of Family Ministries will provide leadership and oversight for our family ministry, with a primary focus on children from birth through 5th grade. This person will partner with parents, develop and encourage volunteers, and help create simple, consistent, safe, and gospel-centered environments where children can grow in their faith. This is a part-time position of approximately 15-20 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing leadership for Sunday morning and Wednesday evening children's ministries
- Selecting and overseeing biblically sound, gospel-centered curriculum
- Recruiting, training, scheduling, and caring for volunteers
- Communicating with and equipping parents for discipleship at home
- Helping maintain strong child-safety policies and procedures
- Developing volunteer leaders and building a healthy, sustainable ministry team
- Working closely with the pastor and church leadership to advance the mission and vision of First Baptist Commerce We are looking for someone who:
- Has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Agrees with the doctrine and ministry philosophy of First Baptist Commerce
- Has experience serving in children's or family ministry
- Relates well to children, parents, and volunteers
- Is organized and communicates well
- Can recruit, encourage, and develop others for ministry
