Director of Pharmacy in Commerce, TX

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract This position offers the opportunity to lead pharmacy operations as the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist in Charge at a behavioral health facility serving adults aged 18 and older. The facility supports a licensed bed capacity of 54 and maintains a daily census averaging between 52 and 54 patients. This contract assignment spans approximately 13 weeks beginning October 1st, with an initial period of overlap training alongside the outgoing Director of Pharmacy. Key responsibilities include overseeing pharmacy staffing and operations, participating in Director of Pharmacy committee work, and ensuring smooth continuity until a permanent Director is hired. The role requires active management of a pharmacy team comprised of one full-time technician, one part-time technician, three per diem technicians, three per diem pharmacists, and one part-time pharmacist. Pharmacist and technician support during shifts include one pharmacist and one technician responsible for filling, delivering orders, and managing inventory. Coverage hours for this role are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with on-call duties, and occasional weekend coverage on Saturdays and Sundays from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Familiarity with the HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation is a plus but not mandatory.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active Texas Pharmacist licensure required Experience in inpatient pharmacy settings Behavioral health pharmacy experience is advantageous Leadership experience as Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist in Charge preferred
