Job Description

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is looking for a positive role model to help plan programming, assist with center oversight, and supervise children in our after-school child care program at Cloverhill Elementary School. The hours for this position are 2:00pm-6pm. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is excited to help children grow, learn, and feel supported every day. What You'll Do As the Youth Development Center Director, you'll play a vital role in shaping high-quality programming and building strong relationships with children, families, staff, and school partners.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supervising and led on-site staff Creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for school-age children Building strong relationships with children and families and serving as a key point of communication Ensuring compliance with Virginia DOE licensing requirements and YMCA quality standards Managing site safety, equipment, and facilities Attending required child care trainings What You Bring We're looking for a confident, compassionate leader who is ready to make a difference.
Ideal candidates will have:
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Experience leading groups of youth A positive, enthusiastic leadership style Virginia DOE licensing qualifications (college-level coursework in a related field or CDA required) Must be at least 21 years old Who We Are The YMCA of Greater Richmond is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the foundations of our community.
