This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with school-age children, creating engaging activities, building positive relationships, and helping keep a fun, structured, and well-organized school-age program running smoothly.
POSITION
School-Age Program Lead Teacher & Coordinator
SCHEDULE
Full-Time | Monday-Friday The schedule will primarily support our school-age after-school program , with additional responsibilities during full-day school closures, school breaks, and summer programming.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead and supervise our school-age classroom/program. Create a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate environment for school-age children. Plan and implement activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, independence, and learning. Build positive relationships with children and families. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom. Provide active supervision and ensure children are accounted for at all times. Assist with homework, reading, educational activities, and enrichment opportunities. Help coordinate activities and programming for full-day school-age care. Assist with planning special events, field trips, and summer activities. Communicate effectively with parents and the CNLC leadership team. Help maintain classroom routines, schedules, supplies, and organization. Follow all CNLC policies, procedures, and Virginia child-care regulations. Serve as a positive role model for children and other team members.

Creative and able to keep school-age children engaged. Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities. A strong communicator and team player. Comfortable working with children of different ages and personalities. Committed to providing a safe, fun, and high-quality child-care experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience working with school-age children preferred. Child-care, education, camp, or classroom experience is a plus. Must meet all applicable Virginia child-care employment requirements. Must be able to pass required background checks and meet all employment requirements.
