Part-Time Farm to School Coordinator

Job Description

The Charleston Elementary School, a PK-8 school of approximately 130 students, strives to prepare all students for the lifelong process of learning, empowering them with confidence, empathy, competence, and civic responsibility. The Charleston Elementary School is seeking a part-time Farm to School Coordinator, up to 5 hours per week, to facilitate a program that connect students with local agriculture and healthy eating. Responsibilities include managing the school gardens and greenhouse, coordinating the sourcing of local foods for school meals, and developing experiential, hands-on learning experiences for students.

Minimum qualifications: Minimum of an Associates degree preferred.

Background in farming, harvesting, landscaping or science preferred.

Strong organizational, inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills to facilitate workshops, teaching sessions, etc.

Creativity and flexibility in order to personalize their learning approach for individual students.

Salary & Benefits:
There are no benefits with this part-time position. Hourly rate is $20.00/hour.
