Job Description

MMUUSD District Farm to School Coordinator At MMUUSD, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to connect with the land, learn about local food systems, and grow into healthy, compassionate people. We are committed to providing students with nutritious, locally sourced foods while strengthening the local food community. By integrating food and land education into our classrooms, we empower students to make informed, values-based choices that sustain their well-being, our community, and the health of the earth. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Farm to School Program Coordinator to support the growth of the Farm-to-School program across the 9 schools in the MMUUSD school district. This position is 15 - 20 hours per week. This position will serve as a "coach," designing systems and recruiting local community members to run Farm to School initiatives within our schools. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, nutrition, and community engagement. This is a 2 year, grant funded position.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and recruit leaders (staff, parents, or community members) at each school to establish local Farm to School clubs or volunteer teams. (2 year workscope)-creating strategies to recruit (surveys, invites) Develop and maintain a district-wide volunteer database Lead Volunteer training and toolkits for teams to operate independently. Curate curriculum resources on garden safety, nutrition education, and local food promotion for the district Create and Curate "Plug-and-Play" resources for Taste Test Kits, garden lesson plans, and classroom enrichment materials. Collaborate with the Farm to School Committees to create a two-year action plan with measurable goals to promote program independence at each school in the MMUUSD. Represent the program at district-wide events Organize and facilitate regular district-wide team meetings to share best practices among school-level clubs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Health, Nutrition, or related field. Experience in program development, volunteer management, or community engagement. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Passion for local food systems in Vermont and education.
