Job Description
Position Description The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha offers an array of activities designed to meet the unique interests and needs of young people throughout the Kenosha community. Employees at the Club exhibit passion and commitment that helps our community thrive. We are looking for someone to direct and manage the success of 20-25 TANF eligible students as they strive for high school graduation. This position will work closely with the Kenosha Unified School district to assist students with barriers that may prevent regular school attendance, challenging behaviors, and/or on time credit accrual.
Title:
Teen Services and Graduation Coordinator The position responsibilities include: Drive Club vehicle when needed. Oversight of case management activities and documentation of interactions and supports through the Check and Connect process. Have a minimum of one hour (weekly) contact with all assigned Graduates. Meet with families of Case managed youth through home visits. Have regular communication with school and Club staff to provide status updates of the graduates and overall program implementation. Complete all required grant data tracking. Motivate students to focus on a graduation plan. Create and facilitate maintenance of college readiness portfolios for teens. Offer academic advisement. Provide guidance and role modeling to graduates. Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against targeted goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests. Connect parents and graduates with appropriate school and community resources. Encourage parent/school/community involvement. Implement goals, objectives, policies, procedures and standards for Be Great Graduate. Engage school staff and integrate into school culture by building relationships and participating in events. Commit to two evenings a week in Teen Center to provide programming, and support Teen Center staff. Develop and maintain partnerships with parents, community leaders and community-based organizations. The successful candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and abilities: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university preferred. A minimum of two years' experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people. Ability to motivate youth Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group/family dynamics. Ability to effectively operate a computer and programs used by the Club. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to deal effectively with members, including discipline problems. Demonstrated ability working with youth, parents, and community leaders. Driver's license, good driving record, personal liability insurance required. Possess good near distance acuity (20 feet or less), far distance acuity (more than 20 feet), three-dimensional depth perception and color distinction. Ability to walk, stand, sit and climb stairs. Possess an adequate level of manual dexterity and sense of balance. Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
