Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Join a Practice Built Around Real, Lasting Change Helm & Harbor Counseling is a veteran-owned, clinician-owned private practice in Point Loma, San Diego, built around the idea that therapy works best when it's a space to be real. We work with high-responsibility professionals, veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and therapists, among others, on anxiety, trauma/PTSD, substance use, and insomnia, using EMDR, ACT, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, CBT-I, and the Gottman Method. Our approach is collaborative, direct, and compassionate. We're hiring a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is looking for a supportive space to provide high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy. Be a Therapist. We'll Handle the Rest. You focus on your clients. We handle the referrals, scheduling infrastructure, the office, and the admin systems. Competitive, transparent pay: $80-$100 per clinical hour (W2), plus paid admin time.

What You'll Do Provide psychotherapy to individuals, using evidence-based approaches (EMDR, ACT, KAP, CBT-I, and Gottman Method are all in active use at the practice, so experience or interest in any of these is a strong fit). Conduct intake assessments and consultation calls with prospective clients. Create treatment plans and document client care, including session and psychotherapy notes. Open and close the office on days you're seeing clients on-site. Help keep our space running with light cleaning and housekeeping in your office and the shared lobby.
Where and When You'll Work Location:
In-Person Required + Telehealth Flexibility This is a primarily in-person role based out of our Point Loma office (2924 Emerson Street, Suite 200, San Diego, CA). You'll see clients in person at the office, and you may also offer telehealth from that location. If you have a private, HIPAA-compliant home office, you may see virtual clients from home with prior approval. We prioritize in-person appointment availability. Schedule Flexible. You set your own hours based on your availability and client demand. Minimum 4 days per week, with at least 25 client appointment slots open weekly. Goal of seeing a minimum of 20 clients per week once your caseload is full (schedule 25 to account for cancellations) Office access available around your schedule to see clients. No required evening or weekend hours. You may offer them if you'd like to. What We're Looking For Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): active, unrestricted California license. Multi-state licensure is a plus.
Clinical grounding in trauma-informed care:
EMDRIA-approved basictraining and EMDR experience are required; training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is highly preferred. Experience with veteran, first responder, healthcare worker, or other high-responsibility populations is valued.
Cultural humility:
you're comfortable and affirming working with LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and polyamorous clients.
Comfort with a full caseload:
ready to build a caseload of 20-25 clients per week.
Reliability and follow-through:
you'll help open/close the office and keep shared space in order.

Admin hours:
$20 per hour. Benefits PTO & Sick time Paid late cancellations and no-shows: We have a 24-hour full-fee cancellation policy. You will be paid your normal clinical rate if the client is charged for the late cancellation/no-show.
