Collect biopsychosocial information about patients through interview, case history, observation techniques, and other assessment methods. Analyze information collected to identify symptoms and develop treatment plan. Provide comprehensive social work services in the form of casework and case management by consulting on or developing discharge plans. Develop individualized treatment plans based on psychiatric diagnosis. Requirements Conditions of employment This position may require the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing. Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. May include shift work (on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays). This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter. This position may require Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series. This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement. A candidate tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination. This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes conducting bio-psychosocial assessments for patients, providing individual or group therapy and formulating treatment plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service(GS-11)

A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (
