Job Summary The Mental Health Technician plays a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position involves providing compassionate care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe environment for patients. The technician will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress, contributing to the overall well-being of those in their care. Duties Follow Care Plans Monitor patient behavior and report any changes to the healthcare team. Document medical records accurately and maintain up-to-date medical documentation. Support psychopharmacology management by ensuring patients take prescribed medications as directed. Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and coping strategies. Participate in therapeutic activities and group sessions to enhance patient engagement. Conduct research on best practices in behavioral health to improve patient care strategies. Facilitate telehealth sessions when necessary, ensuring technology is functioning properly for remote consultations. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to provide comprehensive care. Assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinic environment for both staff and patients. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in mental health or related fields is preferred. Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders is a plus. Familiarity with medical documentation processes and maintaining accurate medical records. Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and behavioral health practices. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their mental health outcomes.
