Job Description

Join Our Team and Make a Difference in Students' Lives! We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our school-based support team. This position provides mental health services, counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to students, families, and staff within a collaborative educational environment. Position Summary The School-Based LCSW will work closely with educators, administrators, families, and community partners to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students succeed academically and personally while fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment. This position is responsible for ensuring delivery of quality clinical services to youth and families and compliance with all state and federal mental health licensing standards and MaineCare regulations. Your Clinical Supervision will be with a licensed independent contractor, and the administrative supervision will be with the Director of Educational Programs. Responsibilities Provide clinical services per IEP/ITP to support students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs. Report all incidents of work-related accident/illness within 24 hours; maintain a safe work environment; ensure that a safe environment is maintained in the workplace by adhering to all safety rules and requirements (Safety Policies) and report any safety hazards to immediate supervisor. Report any safety hazards to immediate supervisor. Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population. Conduct intake assessments for new students and every 90 days ITPs for existing students to guide treatment plans. Develop critical measurable IEP/ITP goals, maintain progress notes and quarterly reviews in accordance with Department of Mental Health and the Department of Education. Facilitate weekly individual and group sessions. Collaborate with parents/guardians, school staff, and external agencies to support students' progress. Act as a liaison between home, school, and agencies (DHHS, Mental Health, Corrections). Refer students to appropriate services as necessary. Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with section 65 Behavioral Health Day Treatment guidelines. Prepare required reports and maintain accurate records. Provide individual, family and group counseling, as stated on the youth's IEP and collaboration with outside family service providers as needed. Participate in educational and clinical team meetings providing input regarding assessment, service planning, and behavioral interventions. Provides weekly clinical supervision to all staff and assure compliance of clinical and MaineCare regulatory standards. Submit and maintain all Section 65 Atrezzo submissions for reimbursement. Assists Special Education Secretary with requesting appropriate authorization and units in Kepro and follow up Complete documentation for billing weekly. Document daily clinical work in EHR (AWARDS) as set forth by organizational policies and procedures and state regulatory agencies including: the documentation of behavioral health professional (BHP) staff supervision and assure compliance of all clinical regulatory standards. Participate in and provide required training to meet regulatory, licensing, and accreditation during staff meetings and in service days. Participates in MANDT Training. Complete other duties as assigned.
Note:
Duties and Responsibilities are subject to change to meet strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field. Licensed LCSW, LSCW-c, LCPC or LCPC-c and able to practice the State of Maine. Experience working with children and young adults with emotional and behavioral disorders in a school or day treatment setting is preferred. Excellent communication, collaborative and relationship building skills. Experience working with youth and families. Ability to effectively manage and respond to a crisis situation. Complete and pass necessary reference, background and physical checks. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
