Position Summary The GPD Clinician provides behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, clinical intervention, crisis support, counseling, and care coordination to Veterans participating in the Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Clinical Treatment (CT) transitional housing program. This position delivers structured, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented clinical services within a residential treatment environment to support stabilization, mental health recovery, and successful transition to permanent housing. The Clinician works collaboratively with Veterans, case managers, residential staff, VA personnel, community providers, and program leadership to identify behavioral health needs and barriers that may interfere with housing stability, recovery, community integration, and successful transition to permanent housing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Assessment & Treatment

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and psychosocial evaluations for Veterans entering CT residential housing.
• Develop and implement individualized clinical treatment plans.
• Establish measurable and realistic interventions designed to improve stability and functioning.
• Provide individual and group counseling utilizing evidence-based, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches.
• Deliver crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services as needed.
• Monitor clinical progress and adjust treatment interventions accordingly. Medication Oversight & Control
• Maintain secure control and oversight of resident medications in accordance with CRC medication management policies.
• Monitor medication adherence and provide psychoeducation regarding prescribed medications.
• Coordinate with prescribing providers regarding medication changes, side effects, and compliance.
• Document medication-related observations and interventions in clinical records.
• If independently licensed and authorized, provide medication management within scope of licensure and state regulations. Residential Clinical Support
• Provide on-site clinical support within the CT residential setting.
• Collaborate with Residential Specialists to support daily clinical stability and adherence to treatment plans.
• Participate in clinical rounds and residential team meetings.
• Support Veterans in developing coping strategies, wellness plans, and relapse prevention skills.
• Facilitate referrals to specialized services when needs exceed the scope of the GPD program. Substance Use Treatment Coordination
• Work collaboratively with the Substance Use Disorder Counselor to support integrated treatment planning and recovery goals.
• Assist with relapse prevention education and therapeutic interventions. Documentation, Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with CRC policies and VA GPD standards.
• Support HMIS and VA reporting in coordination with Data/Compliance staff.
• Ensure clinical records meet grant monitoring requirements.
• Participate in audits, monitoring visits, and quality assurance reviews.
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives. Confidentiality and Privacy
• Protect confidential Veteran information.
• Maintain records in accordance with organizational policies and applicable privacy requirements.
• Obtain appropriate authorization before communicating protected information when authorization is required.
• Discuss resident information only with individuals who are authorized and have a legitimate need for the information.
• Maintain appropriate privacy when conducting counseling, assessments, telephone conversations, and interdisciplinary consultations.
• Understand and follow applicable requirements concerning behavioral health and substance-use treatment records. Veteran Advocacy & Engagement
• Engage Veterans using strength-based, trauma-informed practices.
• Promote participant rights, confidentiality, and dignity.
• Educate Veterans on mental health wellness and recovery strategies.
• Advocate for access to psychiatric care and community behavioral health resources as needed.

Physical and Environmental Requirements The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Responding promptly to behavioral health emergencies.
• Working in environments where residents may experience emotional distress, behavioral escalation, or psychiatric symptoms.
• Operating computers, telephones, and standard office equipment.
• Occasional schedule adjustments in response to program or crisis needs.
• Travel to program sites in Miami-Dade and Broward. Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience with adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders.
• Experience in residential treatment or structured clinical settings preferred.
• Experience with medication monitoring and coordination.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented practices.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Florida (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent).
• Experience working with Veterans.
• Experience providing group therapy in residential environments.
• Familiarity with transitional housing or treatment-based housing programs. Core Competencies

Pay:

$58,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
