In this vital role, you will lead engaging group therapy sessions, facilitate supportive environments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote recovery and well-being. Your expertise will help individuals from diverse backgrounds navigate challenges related to mental health, substance use disorders, trauma, and co-occurring conditions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to apply evidence-based practices while fostering growth and resilience among clients. Duties Lead and facilitate group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to support clients' mental health goals. Conduct comprehensive client assessments to determine eligibility for group participation and tailor interventions accordingly. Collaborate with clinical teams to develop individualized treatment plans, ensuring integration of trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, and behavioral health strategies. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards, including progress notes, treatment plans, and session summaries within electronic health records (EHR) systems. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention techniques, ensuring safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute distress or behavioral crises. Facilitate intake processes for new clients, including gathering medical history, conducting diagnostic evaluations based on DSM-5 criteria, and coordinating case management services. Promote cultural competence by working sensitively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and ensuring respectful client communication throughout all interactions. Experience Proven experience in psychotherapy, group therapy facilitation, or clinical counseling within mental health or behavioral health settings. Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses using DSM-5 standards and ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10). Hands-on experience with crisis management, crisis intervention techniques, and working with individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and clinical documentation standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Skilled in applied behavior analysis (ABA), addiction medicine, and evidence-based practices for mental health treatment. Experience working in home & community care environments or hospital settings is highly desirable. Ability to assess client needs through intake interviews, behavioral assessments, and ongoing patient care documentation using EMR/EHR platforms.
