The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical counseling skills, experience with diverse populations, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practices. This role involves working closely with patients to develop personalized care plans, facilitate therapy sessions, and coordinate services across various healthcare and community resources. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on individuals' recovery journeys within a multidisciplinary team. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments utilizing diagnostic tools and medical records, including ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding. Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as psychotherapy , behavioral therapy , Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , psychodynamic therapy , art therapy , and dance therapy . Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage behavioral health crises with professionalism and sensitivity. Facilitate motivational interviewing techniques to promote patient engagement and adherence to treatment plans. Offer specialized counseling for child & family , grief , addiction , chronic pain , and gender issues as appropriate. Coordinate with healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care including medication management ( psychopharmacology ) when necessary. Maintain detailed, HIPAA-compliant documentation of all clinical interactions, assessments, and treatment progress in medical records. Participate in clinical research projects and contribute to data collection efforts to improve service delivery. Engage in ongoing professional development, including training in telehealth platforms, ICD coding updates, and new therapeutic techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, special education, and disability services settings to ensure seamless patient transitions. Requirements Proven experience in mental health counseling or social work within clinical or hospital environments. Strong knowledge of various therapeutic modalities including psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation standards, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and HIPAA regulations. Experience working with diverse populations such as children, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), geriatrics, or those experiencing PTSD or gender-related issues. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations and case management effectively in outpatient or inpatient settings. Excellent crisis management skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations compassionately and professionally. Strong communication skills for intake procedures, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Relevant certifications or licenses in mental health counseling or social work are preferred; ongoing training in addiction counseling or specialized therapies is a plus. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment committed to patient-centered care. This position is integral to supporting individuals through their recovery process by providing expert clinical care tailored to each patient's unique needs while fostering an environment of trust and healing.
