Employment Opportunity Mental Health Juvenile Justice Liaison Full-time Exempt Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ)

Liaison Responsibilities:

Provide direct case management and linkage services for mental health and substance abuse counseling to youth and their families. Build and solidify collaborative relationships with regional office of education, schools, and juvenile courts. Track referrals, data including outcomes as described and required to DHS/DMH. Provide direct services in mental health programs, which include, Youth Education (YEC) and Parent Education (PEC) curricula, mental health support groups, mental health and anger evaluations, emergency preparedness and other special programs and projects. Promote public education and awareness by taking part in presentations before community groups emphasizing mental health programs as directed by Behavioral Health & Psychiatric Services Director.

Schedule:

Position requires 2 evenings a week (11:00 am

• 7:00 pm) Tuesday through Thursday. Mondays & Fridays are 8:30 am
• 4:30 pm.

MHJJ Liaison Qualifications/Skills:

Positive, cooperative, and professional attitude. Excellent communication skills. Ability to provide case management and linkage to youth and their families. Reflects experience/interest in the culturally diverse population that the health department serves. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.

MHJJ Liaison Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

Master's degree in psychology, social work, or human services-related field is required. LSW or LPC preferred. Experience with case management, linkage and referral, crisis stabilization, and outreach preferred. Valid Illinois Driver's License required and must become a Kendall County Authorized Driver upon hire. Ability to pass background check.
