SUMMARY:
The Family Support Specialist is responsible for implementing family strengthening initiatives by providing parent education, facilitating workshops and Parent/Vitality Cafés, conducting participant intake, home visits, and ongoing case management. This role connects families with community resources, maintains accurate program documentation, supports program evaluation and reporting, participates in outreach and podcast programming, and promotes positive parenting practices while contributing to the overall success of the organization's family support programs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the implementation of the goals and objectives of Families Strengthening Families.
Plan and facilitate Parent/Vitality Cafés and Parenting Classes.
Participate in podcast programming
Conduct participant intake and enrollment for program services.
Participate in training and professional development.
Assist in presenting reports to the Children's Trust Fund Board.
Model and promote positive parent-child interactions and parenting skills.
Maintain accurate program records, including attendance, services provided, and evaluation data.
Conduct assigned home visits.
Provide ongoing case management and support to participating families.
Provide information, referrals, and access to supportive services for eligible participants.
Support program evaluation activities, including data collection and reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned by Director or Program Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field required
Experience in family support services, program coordination, and case management.
Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evening as required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Environment:
Standard office and school settings to include classrooms, gyms, libraries, cafeterias, and recreational areas; moderate travel; exposure to potentially stressful environments; regularly perform inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Physical:
Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate lifting up to 25 pounds; regularly required to walk, sit or stand for prolonged periods of time; may require climbing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
Vision:
See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents.
Hearing:
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction; the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
