Job Description
``` Day Treatment QMHP Behavioral Counselor
- $500 Signing Bonus
- Day treatment is a highly individualized treatment program for children who face challenges in the classroom due to mental or behavioral health challenges.
- As positions closely follow the schedule of Gaston County Schools, the individual hired will be working a schedule that is directly impacted by the GCS schedule as it pertains to holidays, teachers' workdays, and other closures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their emotions and effective coping skills
- Positively engage clients in all interactions while remaining therapeutic and person centered
- Establish and maintain an environment that is conducive to treatment and client's emotional development
- Plan and prepare for therapeutic activities on a daily basis by completing weekly lesson plans
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and activities on clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records including daily notes and service activity logs
- Communicate client progress to the treatment team, as needed and permitted
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information and records
- Comply with all agency policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- Completes documentation timely and accurately
- Provides quality services in accordance with agency guidelines and ADA
- Minimal occurrences of unscheduled absences or tardiness
- Follows all CDC guidelines to ensure client safety in classroom
