Responsibilities Provide peer-led support to individuals experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders through one-on-one mentoring and group facilitation Share personal recovery experiences to motivate clients and build trust in the therapeutic relationship Assist clients in developing coping strategies, harm reduction techniques, and crisis management skills during challenging moments Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care plans while maintaining strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy laws Engage in crisis intervention when urgent situations arise, ensuring safety and connecting clients with appropriate emergency services as needed Advocate for client needs within culturally diverse communities, promoting access to resources and reducing barriers to care Document interactions accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with documentation standards and confidentiality protocols Qualifications Lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use recovery, supported by certification as a Peer Support Specialist or equivalent credential Demonstrated ability in crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health support techniques Strong understanding of addiction counseling, harm reduction strategies, and social work principles Experience working with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds and those with co-occurring disorders Excellent client communication skills with an empathetic, nonjudgmental approach Ability to mentor others effectively while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality Knowledge of mental health counseling practices, behavioral health interventions, and peer support advocacy Join us in empowering individuals on their journey toward recovery!
