Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and will be skilled in providing psychotherapy and direct support. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and delivering high-quality mental health care in a supportive environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices. Offer direct support to clients, ensuring their emotional and psychological well-being. Engage in case management activities, coordinating care with other healthcare providers as necessary. Implement motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client engagement and progress. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance therapeutic skills. Provide Qualitypsychotherapeutic and discharge planning services to all consumer populations and their families. Provides assessment, group treatment, family therapy, and discharge planning. Serves as a member of interdisciplinary team supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy. Provide crisis intervention as needed Participate in Child, Family and Team Meetings Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care Provide counseling and support for individuals with autism, special needs, gender issues, substance use, sexualized behaviors and other specific concerns. Attend Juvenile Judicial Hearings upon Admission Experience Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Strong background in psychotherapy, patient care, and case management is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds are required. Requirements
- Master's Degree in Human Service field (e.g. Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.)
- Valid licensure as a therapist (LCSW, LCSW-A, LCAS, LPC, LPA or LMFT or active provisional license)
- Experienced and interested in providing services to children and adolescents.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic approaches and techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to empathize and establish rapport with clients
