Job Description
Join our team to support students' mental health needs in a school-based setting. You'll provide counseling, crisis intervention, and referrals to students in both general and special education, while working closely with families, school staff, and community providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students. Offer crisis support and referrals to school and community services. Collaborate with parents, staff, and behavioral health professionals. Assist in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans. Support schoolwide activities, student planning, and policy understanding. Maintain timely documentation and participate in staff development.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or related field. At least 1 year of school-based or behavioral health experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and tech skills (Microsoft Office, Google, EHR). Knowledge of adolescent development, community resources, and ethics. Valid NYS driver's license and ability to pass background checks.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time position following the assigned district schedule. Expected work hours are 40 hours per week, with a 5-day work schedule during the school year (Sept-June). Attendance is required at quarterly agency training, bi-weekly individual or group supervision, and other assigned trainings, which may occur during school breaks.Travel:
Minimal travel within the assigned school district and for educational development when necessary. Occasional travel to the Agency office in Gloversville, NY, for meetings and employee development as requested. Why Join Us?
