Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate New York State Licensed Therapist to join our team. This vital role involves providing mental health support, behavioral interventions, and counseling services to students within the school environment. The Therapist will work collaboratively with educators, families, and community partners to foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere that promotes student well-being and academic success. Duties Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations for students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or developmental challenges. Deliver individual and collateral sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, attachment-based therapy for children, and trauma-informed care. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with each student's unique needs, including those with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, or trauma histories. Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, families, and external healthcare providers to coordinate case management and ensure continuity of care. Facilitate crisis management and intervention during acute mental health episodes or behavioral incidents, ensuring safety for students and staff. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) standards and school policies using social work/counseling documentation tools and medical records systems. Skills Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and families in school-based or clinical settings. Strong knowledge of behavioral health modalities including motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and evidence-based practices for trauma-informed care. Expertise in crisis intervention techniques, conflict management, and child & youth therapy approaches. Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical documentation standards, and medical records management in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Ability to assess patient needs through comprehensive evaluations focusing on mental health counseling, social work assessment tools, and diagnostic evaluation procedures. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with diverse populations while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and adaptability. Skilled in data collection for progress monitoring and outcome measurement to inform treatment planning.
