Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning. Deliver individual therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, behavioral therapy, and evidence-based practices. Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards while maintaining accurate medical records in EMR/EHR systems. Engage in case management activities, including intake procedures, patient communication, progress monitoring, and discharge planning. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder or PTSD. Qualifications Valid limited permit or licensure as a Mental Health Counselor or equivalent credential; active registration with relevant licensing boards is preferred. Demonstrated experience working with children, youth, or individuals with developmental disabilities; experience in pediatrics or outpatient settings is highly desirable. Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and trauma-focused therapy. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), clinical documentation standards, and medical records management. Experience working with telehealth platforms and delivering telehealth therapy sessions effectively. Excellent communication skills for client engagement, social work collaboration, and interdisciplinary teamwork. Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and compassion while managing behavior management strategies effectively.
