Description Position Overview Congruent Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic team in Yonkers, New York. Work Environment This role is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while still engaging directly with clients in an outpatient office setting when necessary. Our office operates from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, providing a predictable work schedule. We leverage technology to facilitate virtual sessions, enhancing accessibility for our clients. Additionally, the team thrives on collaboration, working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver a holistic approach to mental health care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents to identify unique emotional and psychological needs. Provide both individual and group counseling sessions that address diverse issues surrounding aging, such as grief, loneliness, and adjustment to health changes. Develop tailored care plans in conjunction with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring a cohesive strategy for each client's treatment. Educate families and staff on impactful strategies to support emotional well-being, including ways to foster engagement and mental stimulation. Offer specialized grief and loss counseling for clients and their families experiencing end-of-life transitions. Utilize evidence-based interventions and methodologies to implement cognitive and emotional stimulation programs that enhance mental acuity among elderly clients. Patient Population / Client Focus Our primary focus is on the elderly community, particularly seniors facing challenges related to aging. This includes addressing mental health issues linked to significant life changes, chronic illnesses, and loss experiences. We emphasize an empathetic and patient-centered approach, understanding that each individual's journey is unique. The ideal counselor will be well-versed in geriatric mental health and possess the expertise to facilitate nuanced conversations regarding sensitive topics. Qualifications A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. A current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential. A minimum of 3 years of recent experience working with geriatric clients in a counseling capacity. Familiarity with evidence-based practices tailored to the elderly population. Excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when interacting with older adults and their families. Commitment to ethical standards and an understanding of legal requirements related to geriatric mental health counseling. Preferred Experience Advanced training or certifications in geriatric mental health or aging-related therapies. Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration within healthcare settings. Proficiency in utilizing telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions. Demonstrated knowledge and application of cognitive behavioral therapy and other effective therapeutic modalities specific to seniors. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary ranging from
USD 80,000
to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience, along with a sign-on bonus.
