Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Your expertise will help clients navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their mental wellness goals. Duties Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to determine client needs. Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and other evidence-based practices. Provide individual and child/youth therapy sessions using a variety of modalities Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations effectively to ensure client safety and stability. Document all clinical encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR/EMR), adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical professionals, case managers, educators, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive care. Engage in professional development to stay current with advances in mental health treatment techniques Requirements Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for practice as a Mental Health Counselor. Proven experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), co-occurring disorders, PTSD care, or geriatrics is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of clinical counseling techniques such as motivational interviewing, grief counseling, addiction counseling, trauma-focused therapy, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions; experience with telehealth therapy is a plus.
