Assessor Position Summary The
ADC-T/LADC SUD
Assessor is responsible for completing comprehensive assessments utilizing current ASAM Criteria and applicable Minnesota requirements. The Assessor evaluates client needs, determines diagnosis, recommends the appropriate ASAM level of care and individualized service intensity, and assists with admission or referral to appropriate services. This position may also provide group counseling and psychoeducation coverage as program needs arise. Essential Duties Schedule and conduct comprehensive assessments in person and through telehealth when appropriate. Gather and evaluate information regarding substance use, treatment history, physical and mental health, withdrawal risk, legal involvement, recovery environment, strengths, supports, and barriers. Determine whether diagnostic criteria for a substance use disorder are met and identify the appropriate diagnosis and severity. Complete required screening for co-occurring mental health needs and recommend additional evaluation when indicated. Assess and document client needs and risk utilizing ASAM criteria. Recommend the clinically appropriate individualized service intensity based on assessment findings and medical necessity. Review referral information and obtain collateral information when clinically appropriate. Review assessment findings and recommendations with clients and engage them in Coordinate with intake staff, referral sources, probation, courts, social service agencies, health care providers, funding sources, and other authorized parties as needed. Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with Minnesota Chapters 245G, 254B, and 148F, current ASAM Criteria, DHS requirements, payer requirements, and agency policies. Participate in clinical consultation and treatment team meetings weekly. Provide group counseling and/or psychoeducation coverage as program needs arise. Minimum Qualifications Current Minnesota Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), or Current Minnesota Alcohol and Drug Counselor-Trainee (ADC-T) temporary permit. Knowledge and application of current ASAM Criteria and Minnesota Chapter 245G requirements. Ability to complete comprehensive assessments, determine appropriate level of care, and develop clinically supported recommendations. Strong clinical interviewing, documentation, communication, and organizational skills. ADC-T staff must practice under supervision as required by Minnesota Statutes §§245G.11 and 148F.035.

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour
