Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Addiction Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey through clinical assessments, counseling, and group facilitation. This role requires a strong understanding of addiction treatment protocols, regulatory compliance, and excellent communication skills to foster a safe and supportive environment for clients. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine client needs and evaluate eligibility based on ASAM criteria. Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at promoting recovery, resilience, and peer support among clients. Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation of all client interactions, assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Ensure compliance with DSAMH regulations and other relevant guidelines governing addiction treatment services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized treatment plans that align with clients' goals. Provide ongoing support and counseling to clients, addressing their physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Monitor client progress throughout treatment and adjust interventions as necessary to optimize outcomes. Experience Prior experience in addiction counseling or related mental health fields is preferred. Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and practices is essential. Knowledge of DSAMH regulations and experience working within regulatory frameworks is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations. Ability to facilitate group sessions effectively and manage group dynamics professionally.
