Responsibilities Conduct thorough clinical assessments utilizing DSM-5 criteria and ICD coding to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use disorders. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and behavioral therapy techniques. Develop tailored treatment plans that incorporate addiction counseling, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and case management strategies. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Provide crisis management during acute episodes, including de-escalation techniques and emergency response coordination. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including hospital staff, social workers, and community service providers. Engage in ongoing research and data collection to monitor treatment outcomes and improve clinical practices related to addiction medicine and behavioral health. Qualifications Valid state licensure as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor or equivalent credential with active certification. Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, PTSD care, and mental health counseling. Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic evaluation, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical terminology relevant to behavioral health. Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, EMR/EHR management, and medical records maintenance. Skilled in intake procedures, client assessment in therapy settings, crisis intervention, and case management. Excellent communication skills for client interaction, client assessment in therapy sessions, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines. Experience working within hospital or home & community care environments is preferred.
