Job Summary Pursuing Joy PLLC is seeking an experienced, fully licensed therapist to join our growing counseling practice in San Antonio. Our ideal candidate is confident and experienced in providing both individual and couples counseling, is willing to integrate clients' Christian faith into treatment when requested, and is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred but not required. We offer flexible scheduling, in-person and telehealth opportunities, active client referrals, and insurance credentialing coordination. We are ready to begin onboarding the right candidate immediately. What We Offer 1. Active Marketing & Client Referrals Our practice invests in advertising and client acquisition to generate counseling inquiries. We coordinate prospective client inquiries and help connect clients with clinicians based on clinical needs, specialties, and scheduling availability. Caseload growth depends on client demand, insurance participation, clinician availability, and client preferences. A specific caseload is not guaranteed. 2. Flexible Scheduling As an independent contractor, you can establish your availability and coordinate appointment times with referred clients. Sessions may be scheduled during mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends based on mutual availability. There are no mandatory evening or weekend shifts. 3. Hybrid Counseling Opportunities Provide both in-person and telehealth counseling. Our counseling office is located at: 4241 Woodcock Dr. San Antonio, TX 78228 Office space is available for in-person sessions, and telehealth services allow you to work with clients throughout Texas, consistent with applicable licensure requirements. 4. Insurance Credentialing Coordination The majority of our prospective clients prefer to use health insurance, particularly Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. We coordinate clinician onboarding and credentialing through our supported insurance and billing arrangements. Credentialing may take approximately 30 days or less, although timelines depend on the insurance provider, platform, and approval process. Insurance-based sessions may begin once applicable credentialing and billing requirements have been confirmed. 5. Competitive, Transparent Compensation Clinicians receive 70% of applicable session revenue, with 30% retained by the practice. Clinicians can expect approximately $65 per completed session. Actual earnings vary based on payer reimbursement, client payment, completed sessions, and the independent contractor agreement. This is a per-session compensation arrangement, not a guaranteed hourly wage or salary. Clinical Responsibilities Provide individual psychotherapy to adults and other populations within your clinical competence. Provide couples counseling when appropriately trained and experienced. Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Deliver evidence-based, culturally responsive psychotherapy. Incorporate clients' Christian faith or spiritual beliefs into treatment when requested, clinically appropriate, and consistent with the client's goals. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation. Communicate professionally with clients and practice leadership regarding referrals and scheduling. Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable professional and ethical standards. Participate in onboarding and insurance credentialing requirements. Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted Texas license as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW. Experience providing psychotherapy independently. Located in the San Antonio area and able to provide in-person counseling. Ability to provide telehealth services. Willingness and eligibility to complete insurance credentialing through the practice's supported arrangements. Ability to provide culturally responsive care to clients from diverse backgrounds. Willingness to incorporate clients' faith into counseling when requested and within the clinician's competence. Strong clinical documentation, communication, and time-management skills. Professional reliability and responsiveness to client referrals. Availability to begin onboarding promptly. Demonstrated experience providing couples counseling. Comfortable accepting and independently managing couples counseling referrals. Experience addressing relationship challenges, communication difficulties, conflict, and other common couples concerns. Ability to provide both individual and couples psychotherapy using appropriate evidence-based approaches. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, including the ability to conduct full psychotherapy sessions in Spanish. Experience providing couples and relationship counseling. Experience with Christian counseling or faith-integrated psychotherapy. Experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life transitions. Experience working with insurance-based clients. Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred but is not required for consideration.
