Summary:

The full-time Behavioral Health Therapist at HopePHL is responsible for delivering comprehensive mental health services, including individual, family, and group counseling, behavioral health assessments, and psycho-education. This role involves working closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide collaborative, trauma-informed care. The therapist will engage with consumers from diverse backgrounds, addressing a wide range of bio-psychosocial risk factors such as homelessness and violence. The position requires a compassionate and adaptable professional dedicated to fostering resilience and promoting mental well-being within the community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:

Direct Therapy Services:

Offer individual, family, and group therapy using trauma-informed approaches in flexible settings, including family homes.

Provide Assessments:

Conduct comprehensive assessments for individuals and families to inform treatment planning and utilize identified treatment modalities.

Crisis Intervention:

Participate in crisis intervention and prevention work when needed.

Make Referrals:

Refer clients to more intensive mental health and/or supportive services based on individual needs.

Aftercare Planning:

Develop and offer aftercare plans for clients who have completed therapeutic services.

Collaboration and Team Support:

Workshops and Training:

Collaborate with the behavioral health team to develop workshop and training schedules for clients and staff.

Team Collaboration:

Participate in clinical case reviews with case management teams and contribute trauma-informed input during case conferences and MDTs (Multidisciplinary Teams).

External Representation:

Represent HopePHL at external service provider groups as requested.

Supervision and Meetings:

Attend biweekly supervision with supervisor, attend monthly peer supervision, monthly department meetings, and all other required agency meetings

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Contract compliance: Fulfill all grant requirements, including meeting performance indicators and maintaining data and contract compliance.

Documentation:

Maintain timely, accurate, and complete case files, both paper and digital, in compliance with contract requirements and agency policies.

Outcome Management:

Monitor and manage client outcomes as required by the grant and ensure regular communication regarding the status of outcomes.

Program Development and Support:

Develop and Implement Services:

Design and deliver therapeutic workshops, trainings, and support services for clients and staff.

De-Stigmatize Services:

Work to reduce stigma surrounding mental health services offered at HopePHL, promoting accessibility and support.

Required Education and Experience:

Educational Requirements

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field Professional Experience

Individual and Group Counseling:

Prior experience in individual and group counseling

Young Adults and Families:

Prior work with young adults and families

Group Co-facilitation:

Experience in co-facilitation of groups Specialized Experience

Diverse Backgrounds:

Experience working with low-income children and adults from diverse backgrounds and with multiple bio-psychosocial risk factors including homelessness

Trauma Factors:

Experience working with factors of domestic violence as well as community violence

Work Environment:

This position operates Monday through Friday with flexible shift options, including 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Occasional travel to the offices of foundation officials or off-site locations will be required. The candidate will routinely use computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and other standard office equipment.

Physical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
