The position is responsible for helping ensure that each youth's admission, assessment, treatment planning, behavioral supports, crisis response, and discharge activities are clinically appropriate, individualized, trauma-informed, and coordinated across the FCH Treatment Team. The Treatment Director works closely with the Executive Director and Licensed Child Care Administrator (LCCA) to support treatment integrity, program compliance, contractual requirements, and positive outcomes for youth. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Placement Screening and Admission Screen requests for placement and review available referral records, clinical history, behavioral information, supervision needs, diagnoses, medications, assessments, and other relevant information. Provide a clinical recommendation to the Executive Director and LCCA regarding whether a prospective placement can be safely and appropriately served within the FCH program. Identify treatment, supervision, staffing, behavioral, medical, or clinical considerations that should be addressed before admission. 2. Assessment and Treatment Planning Develop, complete, and update required treatment-related documents, including Admission Assessments, Preliminary Service Plans within 72 hours, Initial Treatment Plans within 30 days, and Updated Treatment Plans at least every 90 days. Ensure treatment plans are individualized, measurable, clinically appropriate, and informed by available assessments, psychological evaluations, CANS information, clinical recommendations, incident patterns, youth progress, strengths, needs, and permanency goals. Review treatment progress and revise interventions, goals, strategies, and recommendations when a youth demonstrates progress, regression, treatment stagnation, or a significant change in needs. 3. Youth Engagement and Clinical Oversight Provide regular, meaningful, in-person interaction with each youth to assess progress toward treatment goals, identify barriers, reinforce milestones, and ensure the youth's treatment needs are being addressed. Provide clinical impressions, consultation, and recommendations when appropriate and within the scope of the Treatment Director's professional licensure and competence. Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for complex, high-risk, or treatment-sensitive situations. 4. Treatment Team Participation Participate as a vital member of the FCH Treatment Team in weekly and monthly treatment planning meetings. Collaborate with the LCCA, Executive Director, Case Manager, therapist, caregivers, and other treatment providers to coordinate services and maintain continuity of care. Communicate relevant treatment recommendations, progress, concerns, and changes to appropriate internal and external stakeholders as necessary and consistent with confidentiality requirements. 5. Crisis Support and Behavioral Programming Provide clinical support, consultation, and recommendations when a resident experiences a mental health or behavioral crisis. Assist the team in determining appropriate interventions, stabilization strategies, safety considerations, and follow-up actions after significant incidents or crises. Oversee and implement the facility's behavior and reward system in coordination with the LCCA, ensuring interventions are trauma-informed, treatment-aligned, developmentally appropriate, and not punitive. Monitor behavioral trends, incidents, regressions, and treatment stagnation and recommend adjustments to the youth's treatment approach when indicated. 6. Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Program Fidelity Work collaboratively with the LCCA to support compliance with applicable DFPS Residential Child Care requirements, contractual agreements, treatment expectations, and facility policies. Support treatment program fidelity and help ensure that interventions and services remain consistent with approved clinical models and evidence-informed practices. Participate in continuous quality improvement activities, treatment record review, corrective action planning, and inspection readiness as requested. Provide consultation and support to therapists, qualified mental health professionals, case management staff, caregivers, and other treatment personnel when appropriate. 7. Discharge and Transition Planning Assist with discharge planning and implementation when necessary, including clinical recommendations, transition considerations, continuity-of-care needs, and coordination with the treatment team and external stakeholders. Help ensure treatment-related documentation accurately reflects the youth's progress, ongoing needs, recommendations, and transition plan at discharge. Qualifications Required Active Texas licensure in a behavioral health discipline, such as LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist, or another appropriately licensed behavioral health profession. Experience providing or overseeing behavioral health, clinical, or treatment services for children or adolescents. Experience working with youth in residential care, foster care, child welfare, or another comparable treatment setting. Demonstrated ability to develop, interpret, and monitor individualized treatment plans and clinical recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound professional judgment, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Preferred Experience Experience with a Texas DFPS-licensed General Residential Operation (GRO) or Residential Treatment Center (RTC). Familiarity with T3C, CANS, STAD, trauma-informed care, and evidence-informed treatment frameworks. Experience with crisis intervention, behavioral programming, quality assurance, and treatment program oversight.
