Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) - Licensed At Pomarri, we believe recovery is possible for everyone. We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated individuals to join our outpatient treatment team. A licensed counselor you will play an essential role in supporting individuals recovering from substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This position involves individual and group treatment modalities, case management, assessments and treatment coordination in a fast-paced outpatient setting. You will work alongside other licensed therapists, interns, medical providers, nurses, and case managers to help patients build healthier, substance-free lives. Hours and Compensation Pomarri is open Monday through Friday. We open at 10 am and our evening groups run until 9pm. This position will begin as part time with the possibility of scaling to full-time. The ideal candidate will have some availability in the evening hours at least twice a week. Compensation is per billable hour as well as mandatory meetings. Responsibilities Provide individual counseling to clients in a short-term Intensive outpatient program, focused on stabilization and early sobriety efforts. Lead psychoeducational groups on topics related to recovery, relationship skills, emotion regulation, mindfulness, and similar topics. Assess client's on a rolling basis including creating, reviewing, and updating indivdualized treatment plans; and periodic ASAM assessments, recommend clients for a higher level of care when appropriate.

Care Coordination:

connect clients with community resources and assist them with accessing those resources as necessary. Develop a detailed aftercare assessment and plan to support the client in their transition from intensive outpatient to great autonomy and self-sufficiency.

Documentation:

maintain accurate, confidential, and timely patient records in compliance with facility standards. Follow all HIPAA, infection control, and clinic safety protocols. Collaborate closely with therapists, providers, nurses, and case managers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Participate in ongoing training related to substance use disorders, mental health, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention.

Qualifications:

Active license to practice in the state of Utah, LCSW, CMHC, or similar. Experience and qualifications to provide supervision is preferred.

Sobriety requirement:

For counselors in personal recovery, we require a minimum of 3 years of sobriety. Knowledge of substance use disorders, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and recovery principles is preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse patient populations. Support of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) models is required as it is a backbone of our program. Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) is preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Ability to pass a background check.
