We are seeking professionals who understand the responsibility that comes with crisis work. Candidates must be punctual, responsive, professional, and responsible with their time and assigned availability . Key Responsibilities Respond to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises in community settings. Provide Mobile Crisis Response and Community Stabilization services in accordance with agency policies and applicable
DBHDS/DMAS
requirements. Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, stabilization, and supportive counseling. Assist with risk and safety evaluations and identify immediate behavioral health and safety needs. Develop and implement safety plans and crisis intervention strategies as appropriate. Complete required clinical documentation accurately, professionally, and within established timeframes. Maintain communication with supervisors and appropriate agency personnel regarding crisis cases and service needs. Coordinate care with hospitals, Community Services Boards (CSBs), 988/crisis systems, emergency departments, law enforcement, shelters, behavioral health providers, and other community partners when appropriate. Required Qualifications Current registration as a QMHP-A and/or QMHP-C in Virginia, as applicable. Current Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) certification/training required. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or another qualifying behavioral health field. Appropriate behavioral health experience necessary to meet Virginia QMHP requirements. Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral health needs. Strong crisis intervention, communication, documentation, and de-escalation skills. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations. Ability to work independently in community-based environments while following clinical and agency protocols. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Reliable phone and ability to maintain communication while scheduled or on call. Ability to successfully complete required background checks, credentialing, orientation, and agency training. Preferred Experience Previous Mobile Crisis Response experience. Community Stabilization experience. Experience with crisis intervention, emergency behavioral health services, psychiatric services, or intensive community-based services. Familiarity with Virginia's behavioral health crisis system, including 988, Virginia Crisis Connect, CSBs, hospitals, and community crisis resources . Experience completing timely behavioral health documentation in an electronic health record (EHR).
